Plant Repotting Sequence

For my second sequential images i choose to capture the process of repotting the plant i had, this is due to me realising during the process that i felt a resemblance in the process of repotting it. Repotting plants can cause a plant to go through shock as it is quite a big change from it's natural habitat - similar to moving homes. Therefore, the resemblance between me and repotting the plant is me changing my life by moving abroad. There is a number of positives to repotting a plant but most importantly repotting a plant the right way will help a plant to grow further and allow for the roots to expand and develop (Patch Plants, nd). My aim of the chosen images is to portray myself in the same process of repotting; meaning that by taking the step of continuing my education in England it would allow me to expand and develop my knowledge as well as grow more as a person.

For this shoot i used my DSLR Canon 70D camera at home. The equipments i had are fresh potting soil which was already used due to me repotting other plants prior, Shovel, New pot to transfer the plant into.

To edit the images, i used Photoshop to slightly adjust the the contrast, shadow, clarity, and the vibrance. This is to make the images a little bit more vibrant and add more depth to them by adjusting the shadow and the contrast. This was done to all 6 images (see screenshot below).

After wards i added the final images to Pixlr E editor. I created a white canvas 1600x1620px. I resized the images to fit in the canvas and reorganised them to create a sequence of the repotting process. Then i added the sequence name and my name at the bottom of the page using Arial font and in black colour.

Below is my final sequence 📸

I really enjoyed doing this project as it made me understand how i am feeling currently and allowed me to reflect on my life situation, as well as portray it whilst repotting my plant. Also reading more about the benefits of repotting my plants gave me a better understanding of how this will effect my plant and help it grow better.
