As we are creating our own website, I will study two websites and compare and contrast these. This website research will assist me in understanding how to create my own website so I will consider the overall design, colours, and typography, navigation, usability/user-friendliness, links and mobile view.
I will began with kelly wearstler website. I will began with the Homepage design. The homepage here look intresting where you could not notice if she is a interior designer or not. But when I start to scroll down It start to be clear with her amazing designs Also the way she arrange her photos where the colors of each photo matches each other so I started to look at the navigation bar to see what she makes and what shes is intrested in.
the navigation bar is good it is also organized will where you can see and click in the specific thing that you want and find it quickly also each section is well organized.
Also when click on the thing you need, the design and how it show her designs is really good where she also make a good description beside each designs where i could now what is it about and the picture that she used make me more intrested to see the project and she transform and design
Then I started to look for the about me page and It was hard to find which it takes me about 7 min to find it where she put it down the page in a really small size font
but when I open it it was good designed and good about paragraph with some of her craft design that she made which make the page look rich.
For the contact page nice simple and not complicated that is the point. Also she put in her social accounts with the copy right terms.
And Also I checked the mobile view and the desktop view is much better than the mobile view. In the mobile view it is harder to find what you want and also first you open the website a big contact page will pop in to the middle of the website.
Now I will start with
Nate Berkus website . For the home page design it is amazing The image show that he is an interior designer. Also it is not only an picture it is a moving picture where the fire is moving in the background which make it look good with his name int he middle of the page all looking good.
And then i scroll down and I have found the navigation bar which is look good with an amazing quote.
I then clicked on the 'Home collection' to see how it looks and it was really good. The way he put his collection nice and he is specific in each collection which helped me a lot while I am looking
after the navigation part when you scroll down you will find some of Nate famous art that he made and under it the price of the object if you want to buy it which it makes it easier for the viewer to see the price and the reviews as well. Where if you clicked on it you will be able to see different views for the object and its story and the material's that he used.
After that you will find the Latest work of Nate which is good for the people who is looking for the trend object. And when you click on it you will find the collection specifics and the name of the collection in a big size with Nate picture in the left of the page
For the bottoms of the page the thing that really good good and take my attention is he put a video while he is in the home and while he is designing the things and some question and answer question's. And this video is a part of his documentary is HGTV in 2023.
After that the about me it is easy to find and look amazing with two picture and nice introduction that also take my attention and makes me want read more about how he start his career and what was he intrestid in before he became an interior design
and the contact me is looking nice with a black background to make it stand up. As well the copy right is made well.
For the mobile view, it is organized well you can find everything essaly where both the desktop and mobile view is amazing and looking good every thing is clear.
Comparing both sites, Nate Berkus website was more better that Kelly Wearstler It is more clear more easier to use. where Nate website attract me more with his ideas and how he designs his page.On the other hand, kellys website is more complicated than Nate some parts where more hard to find. I am looking to make my website as Nate I really liked his website. Know for the mobile view, Kellys mobile view was find but she needs to work more in it there are something need to be organised better and I think she need to make it easy to use because everyone use his phones more. While Nate mobile view was looking find nothing is complicated or confused it is easy and nice and everything is organised and look similar like the desktop one.
It was really good looking for some big interior designers websites to help me for my website and what to do and what to avoid doing on mine. And it also helped me to see what the viewer look for in the website to attract them to see.
