Object Lesson: Ideas Development

Following on from our initial ideas in week One, today we are doing a creative art exercise in which we choose an object and consider how it could help to develop our initial ideas.

The object I chose was a small Bird house. The bird house was made up of clay with a marblish painting ( Blue, Green, White, Yellow). The object was in a rectangular shape with a hole (Organic shape) in the middle of the piece. the surface of the object is rough but clean with a pattern shape in the back of the bird house. The object is heavy where I feel it when I first hold it and it is fragile as well. I wrote the words that poped in head when i first touched it and saw. which made it easy for me to generate more ideas from one object to give more than one idea

before I decide what I want I was trying to get something that may help me for my interior where I could develop my interiors ideas within it . So I've chose the bird house because it was unique and charming object that adds a playful touch to any space and the object gives inviting feel, just like a primitive cabin. Plus, its a great way to bring a little bit of nature indoors which I am trying to do in my initial ideas

This made me think of how I can develop my ideas from a simple object, but firstly I found a interior designs cabins (hut) by Courtesy Livit that was inspired by a birdhouse where he made a small hut with a bed and to rustic chairs with a big circle window in the middle of the room that 'highlights the border between the interior and the environment', (Nast, 2020). he used a organic shapes in the both sides where match my idea to incorporate the organic shapes in my walls. Also he used earthy colors to his design. The design is simple but gives the welcoming feeling where people might like to stay in where it is located in the middle of the nature it is designed for people who love adventure. However, I will try to get the outdoor to indoor and make a appealing space

This work was made with wood, ceramic, fabrics, and a sensory carpet. this made me think further about how I could develop my project.
