Welcome Post- Term 2

Hello!
happy new year

Welcome back to Nada's blog for Art Portfolio 1 in Term 2. I am Nada al Daboubi from jordan, I study in De Montfort university. Currently I am Art & design student taking my foundation year, My major is Interior design, I chose interior design major because I was inspired by my mother as she is the one who gave me the inspiration and enthusiasm for this field. For this Term blog I will use it to show my interest in interior design and show my work progress and learnings throughout my foundation year and my major project which will be based on a theme provided by my tutor. I worked on improving my drawing level so that I would be more prepared for the new Term.

Over the break I went back to my home country Jordan, amman other than spending time with my friends and family I spend time working in my drawing skills like, some interiors, and face drawing using only a pencil because I do not have my art supplies with me so I used only a pencil. Also I visited some place with cozy and nice interior that inspired me, here are some image for the coffee shop I really liked this place because it has an atmosphere that brings friends together and provides calm and comfort.

Also during the break I put some interior designers in my list and one of them is Maja Kozel an interior designer from emirates. And one of her designs caught my attention located in Dubai. The client need the office both nationally and internationally consistent. "The office aims to have a globally consistent, but country specific image" (kozel, n.d.).I really liked the design because the reception is designed to be open and welcoming. The majlis-style seating wall and the Arabic style lights over the registration desk is two example of how it reflects characteristic of the local gulf aesthetic "It has hints of local gulf aesthetics such as the majlis style seating wall and Arabic style pendants above the reception desk "(kozel, n.d.). what caught my eyes is the majlis is made of Saud fabric and Arabic graphics that represent the gulf aesthetic people, and a dynamic atmosphere that promotes collaboration and interaction (kozel, n.d.).

this new term, my goal is to keep improving and learning more as I continue my DMUIC journey, in addition, I would be able to achieve new skills and enjoy new different experiences that would prepare me even further for university.
