Morgan Research

I am going to begin my research with melisa morgan that had designed and log cabin in texas that has been brought to life with a 19- century transplant wooden structure filled with antiques and rustic life. As I am trying to incorporate the old fashioned decor to my project by being able to give it a modern look in the same time Melisa had the wooden building painstakingly disassembled, marked, carried by truck, and then meticulously rebuilt—timber by timber. however melisa had furnished the cabin with local authentiq to get the past again (the region's history) with the simple early wood furnishings that she brought them from germany back in the 19-century (Nast, 2021).

In the sitting area she used a swedish bench where i got inspired by of the colour of blue green because the blue greens colours combine well with both classical works and contemporary and gives beauty for the place and combines well with other colours especially with natural materials like, wood where I am going to use wood in my AP1 project also that give calming and relaxing space. The green blues that are termed “aqua” represent an important suite of colours for interior designers. These aqua tones are respected both for their inherent beauty and ability to combine very well with other colours, particularly with natural materials, especially woods (Little Greene, n.d.). and a cutted cushions that was inspired by nature plus a two old fashioned chairs with a french linen cushions makes up for in charm and atmosphere. Furthermore, the way she decorated the wall and the colours she used creamy colour and burned wood texture. with a triangle shape that brings natural light in(Nast, 2021).  Further, The cabin's high ceilings let in lots of natural light, and the large front porch a recent addition extends the living area outsideNatural light pours into the cabin from its vaulted ceilings and the large front porch—a new addition—extends the living space from inside to out (Magazine, 2021).

This cottage was very meticulous with every details, from the furnishing to the decoration to the combination of colours. The hut was made by reworking wood to achieve this result, and is decorated by plants, antiques, and soft light that come from outside. the thing that gave me inspiration was the wall of the cabin, How the Two woods are combined with each other gave it a sweeter look that is not usually there. Furthermore, The combination of these two woods also makes the place appear larger and wider than it is. Also the sustainability of the materials the floor is made from hardwood which is a sustainable material. after this research i got more ideas for my project that may be useful, and these ideas are to make a blend with blue and grey between each wood to give it more depth, also the mezzanine floor, after this research i have started to think to make the mezzanine but not a straight flat but to add some curving on it so it can makes the space good.
